    Speech-Language Pathologist

    Founder and Owner

    Tara attended the Medical University of South Carolina and received her Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She enjoys using play based, child-led therapy in almost all of her sessions and can’t resist a good board game. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach with her family, going on long walks, throwing some heavy weights around in the garage, and cooking meals that have ingredients she only uses one time. She enjoys cold brew coffee and true crime podcasts. My favorite sweet treat is a brownie sundae with a brownie from the right angle of a pan (#teambrownieedges). She has an awesome husband and two kids that are the sunshines of her life.

  • Michelle Rowell

    Office Administrator

    Michelle is the office administrator here at Carolina Milestones. Michelle attended Trident Technical College for Early Childhood Education. She was a Preschool Teacher for 9 years ranging from 12 months to 36 months and loves working with children. Working part time allowed her the opportunity to educate, play, and do crafts with some of her favorite little people every day, while getting paid doing something she enjoyed. Michelle was also able to pick up her own children from school and help with homework and manage household responsibilities. Michelle is a Wife of 23 years, having been together for 25. She is a mother of four girls and 5 fur babies. Michelle enjoys visiting family, working in the yard with her Husband, watching movies with her girls, swimming, and trying new restaurants

  • Maureen Brogan CCC-SLP

    Speech-Language Pathologist

    Maureen received her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Butler University and her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Baldwin Wallace University. She has completed Tethered Oral Tissue Training and is a TOTS provider. After living in Indianapolis, IN for 22 years, Maureen moved north to Cleveland, OH. After deciding she went the wrong direction, she headed south for Charleston in May 2021. Maureen pursued a career as an SLP after seeing her teenage brother receive services, thus installing a passion to truly be able to treat across the lifespan. Maureen enjoys treating pediatric client's with receptive-expressive language delays, tethered oral tissues, articulation/phonology disorders, as well as social and cognitive communication deficits. In her free time, Maureen enjoys going to the beach, spending too much money at target, and binge watching Survivor as she dreams of one day winning the title of sole survivor (keep a lookout for her on your TV screen one day). Maureen loves to sing off key to country music, eat a bucket of movie theatre popcorn (with butter) for dinner, and attempt to cook new recipes.

  • Megan Cashin OTR/L

    Born and raised in Massachusetts, Megan recently moved to South Carolina in October 2022 for the warm weather. Megan graduated from Drew University where she studied Psychology and Neuroscience, continuing on to Bay Path University to receive her Masters in Occupational Therapy. She finds joy in working with kids of all ages, helping them grow to be their best selves. Since graduating, Megan has gained experience working with a wide range of individuals, including those with Autism, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, and many more.

    In her spare time you can find her FaceTiming with her five siblings, playing fetch with her crazy kitty, doing laps in the pool or ocean, or finding a nice walking trail. She loves to travel, explore new places, and spend quality time with her friends.

    For Megan, her favorite part of being a pediatric occupational therapist is utilizing the child’s favorite toys in play, connecting with the families, and watching the kiddos become more confident in their abilities as they reach their goal.

  • Haley Eifert MS CCC-SLP

    Speech-Language Pathologist

    Haley received her masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Illinois State University. She traded snow for sand when she moved to Charleston from Chicago, IL in 2019. Over the last 10 years she has gained a wealth of knowledge through several specialized courses including PROMPT, SOS (sensory based feeding approach), Introduction to Floortime, Orofacial myofunctional disorders, and Orton-Gillingham approach to reading. Additionally she is on track to become a CLC (certified lactation consultant). Haley uses a child-focused; play based approach during her sessions to best support her kiddos and their families. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places, going to the beach with her dog, cooking (and eating) with friends., and spending time with her husband and son.

  • Lindsey Hamilton MS OTR/L

    Occupational Therapist

    Lindsey is originally from North Dakota and attended the University of Mary, where she received her Masters in Occupational Therapy. She started her career in California working at a pediatric outpatient clinic for 4 years.

    Lindsey enjoys getting to know the children she works with and incorporating their likes and interests into therapy. She has done continuing education in the motor, behavioral, and sensory aspects of feeding. She also has special interests in self-regulation, sensory integration, behavioral approaches, and neurological disorders.

    Since moving to Charleston, Lindsey enjoys going to the beach, finding new restaurants, and playing outside with her 3 year old son Oaklyn. On any given evening, you can find Lindsey either working out or watching true crime and eating Chic-Fil-A. She's all about balance!

  • Hannah Plantinga MS CCC-SLP

    Hannah is from Worcester, Massachusetts. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from Gordon College, then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences from Tennessee State University. Hannah has experience working with children birth to three through Early Intervention as well as school aged children in the public school system. She has a special interest in speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language, and stuttering. Hannah recently moved to Charleston and is enjoying getting to know the area. She loves reading, the beach, and spending time with family & friends.

  • Jessica Scott MS CCC-SLP

    Jessica graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2007. She also attended University of South Florida in Tampa, FL where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communization Sciences and Disorders in 2005. Jessica is a native Floridian and as a Coast Guard wife has had the opportunity to live in various states with her husband and 3 sweet and spunky daughters.

    Jessica has a passion for working with children with special needs, especially preschoolers, in a fun, play-based style. She had a special interest in language, articulation and feeding disorders and equipping families to communicate successfully with their children in all environments. She has received training in the SOS feeding approach to Feeding, TOTs (tethered oral tissues) and is PROMPT trained as well.

    Jessica loves to laugh at herself and a good meme or Tik Tok video. Laughter is the best medicine! She is a self proclaimed coffee and margarita lover. She’s also obsessed with her fur baby, a golden retriever named Milly.

  • Laura Westbrook MS OTR/L

    Occupational Therapist

    Originally from New Jersey, Laura started migrating south ever since she could. Laura graduated from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and went on to earn her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. Laura started her career as an occupational therapist outside of Washington D.C. 8 years ago working in a private practice and the NICU. Laura is a DIR Floortime® Proficient Provider and working toward her advanced provider certification. She loves helping parents connect with their children in playful and affectively driven interactions. Laura is also an SOS trained provider for feeding and has taken advanced courses in NDT and sensory based approaches to treatment. When Laura is not pretending to be a dinosaur or riding swings with her kids, you can find her cuddling her wrinkly English Bulldog Leon while listening to podcasts. A teeny-bopper at heart, Laura loves going to concerts. More than anything, Laura enjoys traveling to all ends of the Earth with her husband, Cameron.

    Lauren is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh.

    Lauren loves forming meaningful connections with her clients and their families through play-based, child-led approaches. She is SOS and PROMPT trained and has taken advanced courses in Natural Language Acquisition. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, working out, and cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh Penguins.

  • Karena Maass OTR/L, ADHD-CRSP

    Occupational Therapist

    Karena is from the University of New Hampshire in 2014. She went on to work in outpatient pediatric rehab and adult inpatient rehab for four years before moving to Charleston in 2018.

    She enjoys working with kids of all ages and diagnoses. She has participated in continuing education relating to Sensory Processing and Sensory Regulation, Social Thinking, Zones of Regulation, Interactive Metronome, Tongue Ties, Pediatric Kinesio-Taping and Manual Therapy, Aquatic Therapy, Reflex Integration, and Picky Eating.

    Karena has also completed specialty training in treating ADHD and Executive Dysfunction. She is nationally certified as an ADHD-Certified Rehabilitation Service Provider

    In her spare time, Karena spends her time exploring Charleston, being outside, going for long walks and boating with her husband and their three dogs.
